I met this gorgeous girl and her beautiful family when she was just a week old, they drove almost 2hrs to get to me and I was afraid with the car ride she may be pretty awake but she did GREAT!  she let me mold and pose her for quite some time, I had a great time getting to cuddle on her  Her parents were just so laid back and wonderful to work with and she is a very lucky little girl! Can’t wait to see her and family again soon! ENJOY! I had a lot of favorites from this session !

This little girl came to me at a week old, her mom had won a session with me through a facebook contest and I was beyond excited to meet them! She was a gorgeous newborn! Beautiful lips and skin color and the best part is that I get to watch her grow up throughout her first year! yeah!  She took a bit to fall asleep but once she did she did great and we got so many wonderful shots! Mom and dad it was GREAT meeting you and your little family and I can’t wait until the next time! I hope these bring you wonderful memories for many years to come!!

I couldn’t wait to do this little girls 1yr session. I’ve been photographing her since she was a newborn and have loved watching her grow up.  She did perfect! I loved every minute of this session! Mom and I rescheduled this session for this particular day since we had an unusually warm day in February and with the remaining bit of snow on the ground I knew we could capture some great portraits. Between a perfect subject, gorgeous light and warm temps we got some wonderful images and it felt GREAT to be shooting outside again! Unfortunately as I type this its snowing yet again so getting outside again isn’t going to happen anytime soon    With the help of light I was able to get a lot of color into an otherwise drab environment

This was one of my first baby girls after a long string of boys and let me tell you she made me work for these images! She had a lot more desire to be awake and eat than she was sleeping and being posed  But thats ok, I always love me some nice ‘eye contact’ pictures!  Mom and dad were SO sweet and I enjoyed getting to know them so much during her session.  I find that I give a lot of first time parents advice and stories of my own experience as a new parent quite a bit this was no exception. New parents (the poor things) are usually so nervous and unsure and worry over every little thing and I like that I can ease their fears a little when I say “Oh thats totally normal, no worries!” I can see this huge sigh of relief on their faces knowing anything is possible with newborns and they are FAR from predictable!  And she made us very aware of that fact when she didn’t want to go along with our plans most of the session LOL!   Thankfully I just go with the flow on newborn sessions and regardless of how baby acts I always try to put the parents at ease and make sure its a good experience the entire time, I never want them to walk away from any session stresssed, tired and frustrated…I make sure they know no matter how it goes they WILL walk away with beautiful images of the most precious little gift they could ever have   Thanks mom and dad it was wonderful getting to know your little family and can’t wait to see you guys again!

This mom contacted me several months back wanting me to come and capture their newest addition when he arrived, finally the day came and I got to meet this gorgeous boy and his parents. He was a *gorgeous* baby, I see many babies and they are all cute (don’t get me wrong!) but his lips, that beautiful skin, little wisps of dark hair…and on top of it he was a great baby so photographing him was a dream!  His dad is in the military and unfortunately had to leave shortly after this session for an entire year. I know they were so happy to have these images of him before dad had to go.  Sometimes I don’t always think about the sacrifice military members, its easy to take for granted.  Then a situation like this touches me and I see that he is giving up the entire first year of his sons life for our freedom, that brings tears to my eyes to see such a sacrifice.

So mom and dad from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU. Your son was a joy and I know this year will be tough and I wish you as much love and comfort as possible xoxo

oh and top of him serving our country? He also jump starts photographers vehicles since they sometimes have blonde moments and keep their lights on  lol

I’m trying to catch up on blog posts, I’m more behind than I like to be thats for sure! This mom already has her images but I wanted to share this cutie pie blonde anyway, too adorable to not share!   Up after him (hopefully this week if I have time!) is an adorable week old baby boy. I’m telling you the boys are attracted to me 80% of my sessions are little boys I think! LOL!

Loved spending time with this little sweetie and his adorable sister! He was so sleep and I think I could have played with him all day but all good things must come to an end  I got the pleasure of photographing his cousin just a few weeks prior to this..how cool to have a cousin so close in age that you get to grow up with ?  I bet they will be full of mischief as they grow up! lol   Thanks mom and dad, I enjoyed spending the morning with you and and your beautiful family

I have to say I don’t do two year olds very often especially inside! outside you can kind of let them run free, do their own thing and capture it as it happens. In an indoor setting that is quite a bit different. They get fed up easier, don’t want to do what you ask of them, etc etc. BUT I’m a very patient person and I usually win the battle just like I did with this little girl  She was the typical 2yr old but with some distractions and mom leaving the room (haha) we got a lot of great captures! She loved to talk about her Elmo and her brother and daddy. She looked for birds out of the windows and looked the big tractors sitting up in the field and pointed at every thing possible. We had we got along pretty well and I enjoyed doing a little different session than I’m use too and it’s so fun seeing all the new words they are trying to say and watching those determined little minds at work

and for those who think newborns are hard? I think I had more sweat coming off me than during those sessions! hehe

I couldn’t wait to meet this  little sweetie and what a Christmas gift I got when I got to snuggle with her just a few days before Christmas.  I knew she’d be gorgeous and I was hoping she’d have lots of black hair and I was right!! And talk about squishy..ohhhh she was a sweetie (all 9+ lbs of her!) and she has the sweetest and most funny cry I have EVER heard out of a newborn. She didn’t like it when I tried to ger her to rest on her hands and she wouldn’t wake up but let out this cry that literally sounded like a sheep baaaaa’ing. I almost wanted her to cry so I could hear it (thats bad huh? LOL) but it was that cute!!  She belongs to a family member that lives (literally) around the corner from us so I’m lucky I get to see her several times a year and I’m sure she will be just as adorable as her big brother and sister!!  Enjoy , here is Breann!

I love being able to do newborn sessions for family, means so much to me that they want ME to do the honor photographing their  child for the very first time. Her newest son was a great model. Other than a few wimpers and having to pick him up a couple times he did great!! Looking forward to watching him grow up, I’m sure he will be a great kid just as her other two are! Thanks Jenni for allowing me to capture him and your kids did so good hanging out here all morning!
